Our Founder

Words are my passion. When I was a child, my mother would read me fairy tales, the adventures of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, and A. A. Milne poems. I grew up devouring book after book after book—Black Beauty, Madeline, Charlotte’s Web, Robin Hood, Little Women, and so many more. They were my friends, my saviors, my trusted companions. I also had a father who demanded correct grammar and proper word usage. Nary an opportunity went by for him to correct my English.

The love for reading continued into adulthood, and when I learned to write and edit, I became fascinated with the power of words. Their etymology, their sound, their flexibility. They make you laugh. They make you cry. They give you joy. They give you peace. As a wielder of words I could shape stories, shape characters. Give them hopeless obstacles to overcome or a journey of hope and promise.

Reading, writing, editing are all my joys. Words of Passion was created to help women share their stories with the world. To help authors write from the heart and put their passion into words. I’ve always known what I wanted to do—work with words. With Words of Passion I get to live my dream and help authors turn their dreams into reality.
